Description
Preface
Movement is a fundamental component of human health, well-being, and athletic performance. Participation in physical activity and sport is shaped by individual motivation and behaviour, as well as social conditions, access to services, and physiological processes. This multidimensional nature calls for the consideration of complementary disciplinary perspectives within sport sciences.
This volume brings together the psychological dimensions of sport participation, sedentary lifestyles in the digital age, accessibility and social inclusion in sport services, the relationships of nutrition and sleep with athletic performance, and the physiological effects of training. By exploring different aspects of the connections between movement, health, and performance, it aims to promote interdisciplinary dialogue in sport sciences and contribute to bridging scientific knowledge and practice.
We hope this book will serve as a useful resource for researchers, graduate students, coaches, practitioners, and policymakers, and that the issues it addresses will provide a foundation for further research and practice. We sincerely thank the authors for their valuable contributions, the reviewers for their careful evaluations, and everyone who supported the preparation of this volume.
